Pentatonic Noodles

By jegasus on February 22, 2026 11:55 pm

This was an improvised little noodle session. I barely had any time for music this week, and only got a chance to sit down to write something for WB 45min before the deadline! Given the circumstances, I'm not too sad with what came out, hahahahaha...
I started off by playing on my little 2-octave midi controller, improvising on the fly. After a few fun little runs, I picked a section I liked, quantized everything and made a few tiny edits.
I hope y'all enjoy today's very bare bones tune!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention: this was all done in Reaper using a free VST called Vital. It's incredibly powerful, if you haven't checked it out, I'd strongly recommend doing so. From what I've heard, it actually can go head to head with Serum.
Anyways, cheers folks! Have a great week!!!

Very mellow and relaxing vibes. Really lets the delay and sound design spread out and breathe in this heart

noodles to go with the ice cream!

nice soundtrack for meditating on a mountaintop

Noodles are where songs come from! I love the simplicity of this with just the melody and the echos playing off each other. Sounds great!

this is much smarter use of "I have no time" than I got myself into. very meditative and I feel cleaner after listening to this!

I've learned from WB that noodles can be very nice.  The clean tone and delay on this are very appealing and I agree this achieves a meditative state.

Very calm and soothing, basically the opposite of what tend to do when i run out of time. smile

This is great! Love how you take the basic pentatonic idea and give delightful little variations - little bit of bluesy notes, altering the rhythms. Absolutely love how sparse this is - doing something like this is a little scary to me!

Really great example of how a one-hour track can really hold its own. Nicely done smile

Agree with others, very calming quality. I like the way you're able to get variation in the arrangement just from where you leave space (or fill it), and I really like the cross-rhythms with the echo whem you throw in faster note runs

This works fine, pentatonic scale has the inbuilt soothing effect, which works great here... that grace note is fun at the first section smile.

lovely, my Friend

This is awesome, I definitely need to check vital out (I have a passing familiarity but never tried it). Love that synth part, and sometimes just a nice little improvised synth part into reverb/delay is all you need! This is probably one of my favorite things you've ever done. It reminds me a lot of this banger. Keep it up, friend!!

Such a pleasing and calm sound.  Feels like I'm laying in a hammock on a spring day heart

Super relaxing vibes. I really like the string insturment and am gonna have to check out the plugin

decided to sample this through derivative license for this week's track: https://weeklybeats.com/eoe.vibin/music/theology
