OH MY BANG

Howdy howdy, weekly peeps!

First of all, thank you so much for such kind comments on last week's little doodle of a song! I appreciate this crew a whole damn lot heart

This week I come to you with yet another doodle that sounds a bit like the soundtrack of a tense chase scene. I tried to make something more EDM-ish sounding, but after the drop it sounds more like hardstyle (I'm not sure that's the right name, I'm terrible with genres).

By the way, this is my first real attempt at making a drop in an actual song! Aaawww, baby's first drop, how cute! I wasn't able to actually develop the song beyond the drop, so I need to learn a bit how to make it work instead of just ending abruptly. Anyways, this seems like the seed of something interesting and fun! Maybe I'll come back later and flesh it out. Or maybe not, and it'll just be the weird short tune it currently is!

The song was fully sequenced in the M8 Tracker and what you're hearing is the rendered audio that came straight from the device. I really need to learn how to mix properly, this is ridiculous...

Looking forward to listening to everyone else's submissions!!!

PEACE!!!

The theremin and military snare makes me think "aliens"!

I hate to be that guy but the FAQ on this website says "be sure your composition is complete and not just a snippet or a work in progress" (emphasis mine). Sure, people do upload short tracks but maybe at least don't admit out loud it's unfinished big_smile

Thanks so much for listening! And dang, I missed that, I was sure that wips were part of the deal! Hahahahaha... Thanks for pointing it out, I'll definitely keep it in mind for the next few submissions.

Definitely has a sci-fi feeling to it.  As for the work in progress business, just call it a finished track.  It works as is as a fun little interlude.  Plus there's no rules against re-working a track you did earlier.

Yes, I was definitely going for something Sci fi-ish! Thanks for listening!
And yes, I just renamed the song and edited the description, thanks for the heads up!

big_smile this is kinda weird yet awesome, not exactly a typical combination of sounds! theremin for real underutilized these days. too bad it ended right after the drop because I kinda wanted to see where this was going, a hardstyle song starting like this is probably going to be real fun.

Love the… wood blockish Geiger counter sounds. It’s got that happy creepy vibe. Super fun.

Also keep in mind that music (noise?) is just a bunch of waves hitting ears, there's no such thing as "WIP" or "finished" (unless you tell us there is). I think the spirit of WB is to work hard and give your best in your submission. There's a talent spectrum for sure, but remember WB is a personal journey moreso than it is a journey with others, so if you drop something one week that's amazing and then dial it in the next week and call it speed trash welcome to WB. We've _all_ been there LOL.

KAPOW!

Love this! You're making some of my favorite stuff on here every week.

Thank you so much, that's very kind of you!! Who knows, maybe I do come back to this at some point and extend it. And I agree 100% on the theremin, I always love its sound so much. The one I typically use on the M8 comes from Mikey's rave pack and it sounds AWESOME!

Thank you!!! When I got that sound it felt very fun, so I'm happy I'm not the only one who thought so, hahahaha...

Thank you, I really  appreciate that ❤️
Not sure if I can claim to have dropped anything awesome on WB (except for that Brazilian Funk song I did a short while ago - that fucking slapped, hahahahaha). It mostly feels like speed trash, but I'm still cool with it! It's speed trash I'm mostly proud of, you know? =P Anyways, again, thanks for the kind words!
