It's Been a Week (Remastered)

By jegasus on July 27, 2024 10:07 pm

First of all, thank you so much for all the wonderfully kind comments on my previous submission. The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl was a bit of a pain and reading those kind words has been super inspiring. Seriously, thank you!

Given the situation I was in, last week's submission started off as a super low effort tune. Interestingly, though, in the final 30 minutes right before sending it in I started to have a lot of fun chopping my own vocals. Sadly, I wasn't able to get the song to where I really wanted due to the impending deadline, so I just wrapped it up and submitted.

But this week, I decided to go back and "remaster" the track, adding a bit more of thought to a few sounds and allowing myself to have more time (and fun) with those vocals.

I think this is the true final form of the song! I mean, it can probably due with better mixing (I still feel completely inadequate at that part of music production), but I'm already 100% comfortable declaring this song officially done.

This was all done on the Dirtywave M8 Tracker. The vocals are my own and most other sounds are the M8's internal synths that I built up from scratch.

Also, worth noting: the remastering/tune up was all done on a plane on my way to a family trip in Europe. I'm excited for the days to come!!!!

Anyways, that's all from me, folks! I hope y'all have a fantastic week!

PEEEEACE!

Hahaha! Yes! I love this. I just sat here grinning like a dork waiting for the ending that I knew would be there. Did not disappoint! So great. Enjoy your trip and thanks for the song!

I was a fan of it last week and even more a fan with the reverbed mf line yais!! slick kicks too!  Hope you have an awesome time in Europe!

This is great! Love how you kept everything that was awesome about last week and made it More, but still kept it compact and to the point. I listened to both tracks back to back to hear what you tweaked - nice work smile Also love your vocals and the chopping just as much this week as last time.

Have a great trip!

This has a great energy to it and the ending made me laugh, which is always appreciated.
