Funky Monks

OK, it took l a whole week but I finally have a little time to spare, so I'll write out this description.
So this submission was a super duper last minute one. I had a BUNCH of stuff going on during the week.
During the weekend, when I typically have some extra time, things were still super busy. I had two gigs on Saturday, one with the samba band I play in and then another one at night where I performed my own electronic music. Then Sunday came around and I spent a LONG time doing early voting in my local primaries. Where I live there were over 100 things (people and ballot initiatives) to vote for, many of them contested, so I was just trying to make informed decisions on each one.
Anyways, I ended up only having about 45min to work on my song and this was all I could come up with. This submission was used for weekly beats as well as them community jam. The theme of the jam was chapel/cathedral, so the first thing that came to my mind was Era's Ameno. I know it's become a meme, but I find  that chant of "Dorime" unironically super cool. To try to achieve something similar, I thought about using the M8's Macrosynth vocal engines (vowel, vosim).
Given the time constraint, I was only able to get a seed of the idea started. Barely was able to flesh any of it out, but hey, it's something!
Thanks for still listening!!!

Ohhh! Love the monk chants! I'm imagining a temple ruin in a FF game or something. Great song!

I remember a group of monks performed at my college one time.  It was cool to see that throat singing live.  I'd say they were some pretty funky monks, but not quite as funky as this.  A fun mix of sounds.

Takes me back...

And here I was thinking it had something to do with these guys. But cool use of the engine! I think I rarely ever used it, should change that.

These monks gotta a groove to their step!  The kick really drives the track while the melody does it's hypnotic chant and dance.  Well done!

Great use of the synth engine to evoke chanting! That kick and rhythm just drives things along. (For me, Funky Monks made me think of these guys)

Playful and menacing at the same time, this was really cool! I'd love to hear how you made the low chanting sound, it's very guttural and entrancing.

I recently remembered the Chant album cover from my youth but mis-remembered the album as being gregorian chant set to techno beats. Thank you for realizing this vision!

Funky monks are great!
