DC, Daniel Radcliffe and Poop

Thank you for the incredibly kind comments last week! This is now my second submission to Weekly Beats ever!!! Let's see if I can keep this up throughout the year!
I decided to go in a similar direction this time with the whole rap comedy thing, but the beat I made for this one was MUCH less interesting. Still fun, but thrown together at the last minute and obviously playing second fiddle to the lyrics, on which I spent most of my time. Not that the lyrics are great or that the vocal performance is stellar, but definitely more involved than the little beat.
Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy this nonsense I'm making. I think I'm going to try to keep up this kind of rap-diary style for however long I can keep it up.
Excited to see what everyone else made!

Production Notes
----------------
The beat was made on the Dirtywave M8 Tracker and then the vocals were recorded using Reaper. The final mixing was also done in Reaper.

Adding comedy puts a whole other layer on having to get things done in a week. Highly impressed, I really liked it.

Also it really hit me right in my childish sense of humor. I was reviewing footage of a collapsing building last week, and I still can’t over the fact that one of the walls is casually tagged with… poo poo, pee pee, pine cone and vagina.

Putting the high class in low brow and all that.

Anyway, loved it.

hahaha fucking normcore, amazing.
Try experimenting with doubling the vocals next! Maybe at a tad of compression/reverb for things to sit better in the mix

who the fuck names their turd Dave though??! ;P

nice one, the rapping reminds me a little of the early uffie stuff

lol, this is hilarious. it went places I wasn't expecting, keeping it real! please share it on linkedin

HAHAHAHAHAHAH, YES! I often feel like my sense of comedy is still stuck at the age of eight, hahahaha... Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you, thank you thank you!!! I never understood what normcore was, but I will happily fall under it, hahahahaha...
and thanks for the pointers! The vocal recording was much cleaner here than last week since I actually had access to a little recording headset and Reaper. But I feel that the slightly nicer recording also made it more apparent that the vocals are falling kind of flat, so I need to experiment with stuff like you said. I'll definitely try stuff out for next time, thanks again for the tip!

Hahahaha, man... If anyone from my work listened to this I think I would just DIE. Like, collapse into myself like a dying star out of embarrassment and poof out of existence.

btw idk if normcore is a real thing, I just made it up because you are rapping about normie things

reminds me of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PsnxDQvQpw

Holy shit, you have no idea how happy I am to have reminded you of that, no matter how faintly, hahahaha... Jon Lajoie was one of the first musical comedy internet personalities I discovered, so he's definitely been a huge influence. "Normal Guy" and "WTF Collective" are huge favorites heart

I thought by DC you meant Diet Coke and I was like, woah this is edgy

You had me at “corpse motorboat”

You have no idea how happy you've made me for pointing out that sentence, hahaaahaha... It's actually the one I'm proudest about. Please tell me you've seen (or at least heard of) the film called "Swiss Army Man", where Daniel Radcliffe actually plays a corpse!
Fun production story: the first version I wrote was "Daniel Radcliffe, that dude's pretty weird, started off as a wizard, then a corpse with a beard" (referring to the Swiss Army Man film). Since it had been a long time that I watched the film, I didn't 100% remember if he actually had a beard or not. So right before submitting, I just ran a quick google search and found that he DID NOT have a beard in the film and that I needed to come up with a new line and re-record that whole part.
In the end, I actually prefer the new "corpse motorboat" version! Hahahaha... And after submitting, I noticed I could be even more ridiculous (and accurate) if I had changed it to "farting corpse motorboat" without messing up the metric too much.
Okay, essay over. All of that to say "thank you", hahahaha heart

yo this is great, love the comedic flow.

the change in metre works so well
