crawling with bugs

Another stab at the techmo machine in vcv rack. I was starting to feel pretty confident in the thing when I realized I've crossed an insane boundary for modules. This track actively uses > 200, and that's after simplifying and using multipurpose modules wherever possible. Not sure how I'm going to approach that moving forward, but still pretty happy with the tune.

I'm generating a sequence, quantizing it to a scale and root note, and then using that to generate chords... which I use to generate the arp... et cetera. So when performing it, I can change the number of steps in the sequence, regenerate it, et cetera and it just continues to go.

I've also got performance control over the probability of the atonal... weirdnesses. I've got multiple layers of weird sounds that come in and out on their own. It's very weird but eh, I like it.

track title is freaking me out

I CAN HEAR THEM IN MY EARS!

wow, this really opened up.  really wild chord progressions!  just feels like a flower blooming, or a going deeper into a fractal visualization

Ohhh gosh I love the way this evolves. Are you old enough to know Jam&Spoon? I'm old. But this feels like a spiritual successor to a lot of what they did on Tripomatic Fairytales 2002/3003, trances-techno that's always evolving and exploring and sorta becoming a thing of its own creation. This is really awesome. VCV rack is amazing and you are wielding it with expert dexterity!

Crawling with bugs, but they're pretty chill and can teach me some awesome dance moves.
Hahahahaha.... This is, indeed, super weird, but of the fantastically tasty variety! Crazy to think this is coming out of a lot of heavily curated and pseudo randomized processes. The filter down and breakout at 3:20 was quite pleasant! Super fun!

It gives a sort of crystal cave vibe. Hope these bugs aren't too big.

Dude thank you so much. I'm in my 40s, so I feel like I should have run across Jam & Spoon at some point, but I never had. Going through their albums has been like opening a time capsule from my younger self. And after listening to it, the comparison is incredibly humbling.
