Slow Hurry

By Jazzaria on February 11, 2024 6:09 pm

An assembly line of molasses. A turtle riding a jet. A slug with rollerblades. A sloth on a bike.

A slow hurry.

Featuring electric guitar and bass, drum kit, synthesizer, and electric grand with effects.

I don't quite get the part that's supposed to be slow about this track, all of it seems pretty fast-paced to me! Sounds like a segment of a 24-minute track with a 17-word name by a band that was big in the early '70s. Yeah, some classic prog rock build vibes here.

Heh yeah, I'm definitely taking a bit of poetic license with the title/description. But I also envisioned the underlying "theme" as a somewhat slow riff, contrasting the usual semi-manic themes that prog rock uses (but otherwise going for a prog rock vibe as you said). The BPM is "only" 118, but the guitar does some essentially double-time strumming to make it feel a lot faster.

When you got nowhere to go, but gotta go there fast
Pretty hectic
