Maíz Verde

By Jazzaria on March 10, 2024 10:43 pm

Prepare a pan, lightly greased - the corn is ready, we shall feast! With colors that delight the eye, maíz verde truly satisfies.

Featuring a latin jazz band of flute, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, upright bass, and percussion.

Love the "guiro" as percussion. smile

This feels good. No dark vibes when listening to that!

Now you inspired me to do Taco Tuesday tomorrow!

Sounds great... but, maybe surprisingly, it reminds me more of Balkan music like Goran Bregovic or Beirut!

Thanks! Yeah, it's always fun doing something that's nominally in a minor key but actually festive.

Part of that may be the augmented 2nd towards the end of the "B" phrase (out of the overall AABA, the one where the tenor sax joins the flute the first time). I wasn't particularly consciously channeling anything Balkan, but can definitely hear it too.

¡Sí, por favor! Va bien juntos y música para cocinar.

Very festive, very tasty
Great vibe
