stargazer

By Jason Nijjer on March 15, 2026 8:50 pm

Had fun making this one, started with a drone patch using three instances of stargazer in VCV rack, one of them going through the new grains module by jw-modules (amazing and fun free module).  It all had an ominous feel, my son found the screeching pterodactyl like sample which seemed to work well, lots of different drums chopped from various sources.

oh man it all comes together so nice at 30. Great percussive elements and ear candy. Killer sound design. Favorited.

Ooof so many good drum sounds in this.  Especially enjoy those distorted snare-like bits. The break down about midway is so cool. Getting sweet nin-like industrial vibes throughout.  Such a nice variety of percussive sounds.  Well done!

The drum samples work so good, the synths are amazing and the screeching sample works so well.  Really good track!

I like that screeching pterodatcyl sound! And a lot of very interesting percussive sounds. From the massive boom to the short glitchy sounds. The pacing and tempo is good, there is a sense of progress but not frenetic. It's more walking across a cyberpunk landscape. This was a nice journey!

Lovely sound design on this, sounds very stark and technical. The glitchy rhythms are so entertaining, as is the dinosaur-based instrumentation lol.

the percussion you use here is so good. the shift around 1:50 is so satisfying to listen to. great use of textural layers to build the beat up!

This unfolds in such a satisfying way. The relaxed tempo gives a it a nice pace. I love all the little glitchy ear candy bits too ... they add so much! And the plucky bass part at the end ... yes! wink

This track is like exploring an ever-changing alien landscape that just might be trying to kill you.

love it

Very good trip. Every sound was well chosen and interestingly placed.

Love this percussion. Awesome track.
