sohil's groove

A few weeks ago my son wanted to do a performance for the family, little did we know this little 8 year old had some serious beat boxing skills.  He said he likes to practice it when he is alone.  Last week I decided to record his beat boxing into my iphone and chopped it up into a drum rack in Ableton.  All the drum, percussion, and little vocal effects come straight from his mouth.  I have no idea how he makes some of these sounds, but shouldn't surprise me too much as he is always making some kind of sound effect from his mouth.  Super fun and enjoyable track to make with him, love you Sohil!

This is fantastic. Congratulations and my biggest applause.

All the percussions are from his mouth? This is really impressive! At 8 years old, he's already running circles around his elders. Very cool collab there. I like also the laid back pensive background music you set for his beatboxing exploration.

HELL YEAH
this is so great. well done, Sohil!
*and well done, Jason!

how cool!! Sohil has some skillllssss. Excellent chopping and love all the layers going on.

Your newly discovered organic drum machine is percussion gold. Sample him for prosperity and sample him again! He'll thank you later lol. This sounds soooo good. Those kicks and bass tom sounds are just so deep and the best ear candy, you literally can't buy this stuff its precious and totally unique and I'm a little jealous! Awesome!

Wow what an awesome sound and groove!  Congrats to both of ya.  Totally agree with neon liminal.  Sample away!  The pads and bass mixed with Sohil is such a calming atmosphere to drift off into.  Awesome!

I really love this one. So much I think it's one of your year's best. Original song, great premise and story and also a great track on its own. The groove and the mix is quite punchy and well balanced, and the melodic side brings a lot of warm to such hitting drums.
