Just One More

I've got some dance trash for you this week!
This one's origin story is a story of just leaning in to what works. I set up a patch and programmed a few remote control presets on the Drop, then I figured I should just stream it for a bit. (I live stream modular sets on Earth Modular Society sometimes, it's an awesome community you should join if you're at all into modular!) Ended up noodling around for 48 minutes total, and felt that I got some good ideas out of it. So after a little break I sat down and recorded a little 5 minute session, moving through the presets I had created in my earlier stream, and... it just sounded awful, with messed up structure and none of the groove the stream ended up on.
Thankfully, I had recorded the whole stream as a multitrack session in Ableton - so I just picked out my favorite section (around 40 minutes in), and added a club-compatible intro and outro.
And then I decided to experiment with some vocal samples from Output Arcade, and man... this feels like a cheat code. Had a bit of fun with that, added some heavy FX, and out the door with the dance trash!

Patch notes:
- Bohm on kick, this time ducking the whole mix again because my end of chain workarounds didn't really compare.
- Vhikk X through Ikarie as one of the melodic voices
- Virt Iter Legio through Natural Gate and Eon Procyon as the other melodic voice.
- Cursus Iteritas Alia through the Doepfer SEM filter as the bass voice.
- Nautilus as in-rack delay send, Valhalla Supermassive as DAW-side reverb send.
- Sequenced from a variety of sources. Drums from Metron as always, Melody from Oxi One Mk2 as well as Qubit Bloom v1, attenuated and quantized so I could control the range of the melody from the Drop.
- Oh yeah, the Neuzeit Drop. Starting to get to grips with it I think. Still need more practice and workflow refinements.
- Vocal samples from Output Arcade added in Ableton.

I quite like it! Still working out the best way to integrate it with my rack, I don't have enough midi-to-CV converters. But if you're using it with a DAW or other midi-centric gear I bet it will shine easily. I was pretty apprehensive about the configuration of it, but it's actually pretty fast and easy, the interface is well thought through.

What kind of gear were you thinking of remote controlling with it?

That kick is so kicking.
Digging the motion as the track progresses; not sure what you are doing when the track hits around the 4-minute mark, but the micro-detail melodic elements are *bites finger* so darn good.
