Behind Closed Doors

Well, this didn't quite go as planned neutral

I came up with the intro piano bit at work yesterday and had a couple of ideas on how it might come together, so I started working on it this afternoon, made decent progress despite feeling pretty unenthused.

Then, I needed to attend to family, so... welp... I guess this is how it stays for now. The 'bridge' vocals were entirely meant to be a placeholder while I mixed the rest so I could circle back to it when I had a better idea, but didn't get the chance to, along with a few other bits that needed polish, had to mix on headphones again, but eh, it's a demo.

So yeah, kind've another not properly complete song, maybe? Oops... (yes, I need to not leave them til the last minute, but... it's how I roll...)

SHIIIIT!

Trent Reznor territory. Love the heavy compression and eq on the vocals. This is great.

I'd love a drop with drums at some point, but so good already like that.

Vocals are really good, pro sounding.
You definitely nailed (pun intended) the kind of song you went for.
Doubling of vocals in the last part of the song is a nice touch.
Really impressed by your level of a demo song.
You could team up with Orange Drink and bring drums, a few distorted guitars, and here you go for track 2 of an amazing album.

I can see the vision, that door won't stop it.

Lyrics are great. Parts are in good order. More time in the chair and you'll easily have this ready for mass murder.

This rules! I'm with @djippy, I was definitely on the edge of my seat waiting for the drums to kick in NIN style. Very nice work!

Amazing track - awesome lyrics and performance, and the NIN “ambiguous major/minor” is really well done. Great slow burn - kept expecting the song to jump up and rip my face off with a drop, but not mad that it didn’t. smile Great work for a demo that wasn’t what you were planning!

holy crap this is kind of insane

actually: i am available for drums, holla

Love the piano/distorted synth combo.  Maynard-like feels with your excellent vocals too. Well done! \m/
