A Fine Selection of Cheesy Macho Boomer Riffs in E Minor

By JaiClone on February 8, 2026 5:43 pm

So, over the last few years, I've gradually built a small collection of riffs quite similar to each other based around the E minor pentatonic/blues scale, and because they're pretty basic, they became a bit of a 'go-to' whenever I picked up a guitar to try out or testing a pedal or whatever.

This track is an amalgamation of some of those riffs, built into a song... of sorts... risks were taken and sacrifices were made, but I guess it somewhat works in the end...?

Although I identify as non-binary and in no way fit stereotypical masculine vibes, I seem to unintentionally gravitate towards writing rather masc riffs, as this piece demonstrates... *shrug*

Also, feel free to mention if any of these riffs are ripping something off, because I wouldn't be surprised.

Wondered when that main riff would make it to WB! Ive heard it more than a few times in the shop lol But super good how it actually came around from a shop riff to a tune!

I'm all for boomer riffs. That stuff is classic for a reason. This was highly enjoyable. The paced up drums at the end were a nice cherry on top.

Rock yeah.

Love those "stoner rock" inspired riffs. Great guitar tones. That 6-8 move is awesome!

Super fun listen.

Okay, Clutch fan here, so heavy boomer riffs absolutely make my day. This track is amazing start to finish.

Only the absolute finest cheese.
