It All Ends

I had nothing this week. Lots of somethings that had been started, but couldn't be finished yet. plenty of short snippets with nothing to complete them with. It wasn't until 9pm Saturday that this poured out.

This song comes from some strange, second hand emotions - I like it, but don't like how it got here.

Back in Open C this week, I have gone all in on the safari pedals plugins as well - I have even cut my Slate subscription, at least for now. Love the workflow, feel and simplicity of these plugins and I *think* if I dare so say myself, my mixes and tones are better? they are certainly different.

Hope you have a nice week - thanks to any listeners and commenters too - always lovely and constructive feedback.

Here are the lyrics:

Listen for the hush
The painful quiet
All the best of them Peter out
I hate the rush
The aimless crying
When all you want to do is scream and shout

It all ends
That's it
Theres no denying it
No clue
No use in trying it
And i maybe fooled
To believe that its true
But its not
It's not

Quiet nods
And seals of approval
Turning you back when the damage is done
Shut the door
Begin the removal
Of feelings that you help to succumb

It all ends
Theres no denying
No clue
No use in trying it
I may be fooled to believe that its true
But its not
Its not

Turn it off
The senseless emotion
It won't help when you try to sleep
Push it down
Remember to function
All the best of them peter out

Lyrics like that are funny….”Ummm…where did THAT come from?!?” smile

This is so unique…don’t know if I’ve ever heard a loud/soft rock song in 3 like this before! Great dynamics between verse and chorus, love how the chorus hits. And those harmonies at the end! Moar of those plz smile As usual, so good. So impressed on how you’re able to come up with awesome rock tracks week on week.

A couple of thoughts, just some style things - the snare on both the two and three makes the beat feel a little heavy. I’d wonder about just the 3, or maybe alternating between the 3 and then the “3 and” to give a little rhythmic kick.

Love how smooth your vocals are - but wondering if a bit more saturation on them would seat them in the guitars a bit more, they feel a little forward…would love a Bob Mould feel of being enveloped by the guitars when they hit in the chorus.

Awesome work…especially for late on Saturday! Guitar gang represent smile

Thanks for the feedback - I think I might keep working on this one, as I like the idea, but some refinement is needed - I think had I started on it earlier in the week I would have had a more 'producer head' on when it came tp the finishing touches.

Relatable! I started this week’s track at like 3pm on Sunday, I was fighting for my life LOL I got a few comments on where I could take my track…yeah, wasn’t even thinking like that in the moment smile
