6 minutes to go

By J Sangha on July 24, 2022 11:56 pm

Finished this track with 4 minutes left to upload.  Didn't get a chance to mix at all on this track.  Only had time to compress the kick, and balance some levels.  I tried to mix up my chords on this one.  Started in the key of C#major, modulated all the chords, and ended up with something that was less cheesy than the beginning of my idea.  Used my session guitar plugin for the guitar at the end, and most other synths are Arturia synths.  Enjoy

Sounds great! I really love that the kick is compressed, and yet everything sits nicely around it,

Thanks so much !

Some really pleasant sounds on this, interesting effect that crushes everything then releases, underlying bass keeps everything pulsing along.

!!! This is just bragging, then, sounds _great_ for "not mixed"

Thanks so much for the kind words.  Summer has just been so busy, so just barely have the time to get something together.  I’ve neglected listening to some great tunes on here, but hopefully can get a listening session in this week.

Thanks j! I routed midi to the distortion pluggin stutter edit 2, and played it like instrument ( ie turned it off and on with my keyboard).  I saw Daedalus do, he’s obviously way better than me.

It does not sound rushed. That's a sophisticated track and the mix sounds nice to my ear! I really like what you did with the morphings of the track like at 1:57 - that's a fun effect that catches the ear, before going back into the bass line. Nice usage of vocal samples too. It's a cool track for a drive.
