Nice bumpy bass and sweet slidey synths!

That's how I like it!

beautiful!  is there sidechain compression on the bass?  kinda feels like the bass really stands out (in a good way)

whatever chord change thingy happens at 2:00 is so uplifting

only thing we are missing is a vocoder voice "COTTONTAIL RALLY - CRUISE CONNECTION - START!"

and then a "NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED!" sound effect and voice at the end.

A++

The kick is controlling the sidechain to the rest of the mix, which is pretty common with my stuff, but it's fairly minimal, most of any pumping is from the main compressor.
The bass, is just my electric guitar patch, but I tweaked a bit, and added a sub to it, so it sounds more like a hollow body or something. I wanted more sfx and interstitial stuff, I even had planned for making a police siren following for a bit, and maybe some faux doppler effects, just didn't have the time. I think the intro stinger could have been better, literally just whipped it up in the last couple of minutes.

Thanks!

Ooof that groovy bass has me shiftin in my chair.  **runs over carrot for super speed at the 1:54 mark.**  If I had bun ears they'd totally be flapping out the window. Seriously though love that wavey pad synth that takes me back to the Sonic days.  smile

Those ears do like to flap!

There isn't any boating in this game! But this track does end on the waterfront, so there is always a possibility of wiping out in the water!

Careful with that second turn, one false move and there's going to be blood everywhere. But at least the music will be good.

Cottontail Rally Week! This one feels, to me, more like a physical representation of the race than the others. The bleepy leads that keep almost becoming NES arps weave in and out of each other in counterpoint like weaving through traffic. All while the ‘waowahhh’ pads slide and bend like turns in the road. It really paints a picture!

haha, none of that in Cottontail Rally! The bunnies are practically made of marshmallow!

Yeah, I'm glad you picked up on that. I felt like that square arp made it sound like a challenging course requiring lots of focus and precision driving, the smooth pads accentuate the feeling you get when you master the turns, it feels smooth and breezy.
I actually had a car in mind for this track, the Honda City Turbo II as seen in the Arcade/NES game City Connection. The game play was wonky, and the music was questionable (I'm pretty sure it's just sped up Tchaikovsky), but it peaked my imagination of little boxy cars flying around a city! The City was also made to carry a tiny Honda Motocompo motorbike in the back! I'm pretty sure this is how bunnies would commute to work!

the way the boxiness of the mix creates that sense of forward propulsion is really interesting. I never thought to make a driving/racing themed track, and this has got me listening for all these little details like the arpeggios and the noise swoosh and the neon brass that heighten the mood. really fun and engaging.

You should try it sometime!

Oh dear!

The tight funk of the bass is awesome. With the 80s sounds in the track, it sounds like vintage funky journey through time to some better imagined version of the 80s where the sky was always neon pink.

That's a vibe!

I can chew on that tasty bass line like bass-a-bubalicious!
