I guess this is a more "zen" track compared to my previous two this year so far. Nothing special, nothing crazy. Just long, slow pads over a drum loop layered with prickly echoed staccato synth.

Frankly, I'm glad to have this out of the way, and might opt out of WB for a while. I don't take much joy in meeting arbitrary weekly deadlines, because it feels more like a chore than a music or art project to feel passionate about. Perhaps doing so on a monthly basis rather than weekly is better, because that would allow more time and less pressure to hone one's craft. In other words, for a "quality over quantity" approach.

I dunno. I thought I'd at least try WB. I'm just afraid that most of my work will at best end up being mediocre in this fashion. Still waiting for that truly inspirational "spark" I guess.

I hear you on the whole feels like a chore sometimes.  I find the WeeklyBeats experience interesting in that it does sometimes feel like you're rushing stuff out that doesn't feel like it's at its best.  On the other hand it can be good not to overthink things sometimes and also I find that prioritizing being creative by having to put something out every week sometimes is enough to get the creative juices flowing.  Good luck whatever you decide.  Also I enjoyed listening to the track.

Thanks for the feedback smile

I guess in a way the WB project is a mental exercise. And our works don't have to be perfect either, or necessarily even good.

Aw, too bad, I think this is your best one so far, they are getting better every week. Hope you don't throw in the towel completely. Yeah, I think it is a great exercise... I have been flaking out quite a few weeks this year but I'm not about to give up.

Really nice build up here - I wasn't feeling the staccato arpeggio thing but the rest of it was cool, especially the pads.

Thanks man smile

Don't worry, I'm not planning on quitting altogether. Might just take a break for Week 17. I already have two clear ideas for future trax in the coming weeks - one which will be very familiar to us. But I'll keep it a surprise wink
