Attempt at breaking my 2-year hiatus

By infraviolet on April 1, 2018 3:30 am

Hi,

I am new to Weekly Beats, but I am not new to making music. My music production for the last two years has been nearly non-existent, so recently I decided to see if I "still got it".

I sampled some Turkish action film from either the late 70s or early 80s, but I do not know the title. The percussion I used is 100 percent from said sampling, but I included my own synthesized bass lines. The track itself is not meant to be taken seriously, and to be honest might sound like a train wreck to some. But at least I'm trying to do something creative again.

Enjoy (at your own risk).

First half has a kind of cool groove but it needs more high end to my ears.

Thx for the feedback smile

I know what you mean. I think the audio from the movie I sampled was pretty low end to begin with, but I'll keep that in mind for future WB trax.

It's a decent attempt, but it could use some leads, perhaps using another sample.

Thank you for your feedback smile

I was pondering that in the earlier part of my track production, as I ended up only using bass lines for melody. Maybe I should see about implementing more high end in general in my next track.
