A Tale of Youth and Misadventure in 2612

All done on Sonicware Liven Mega Synthesis, using LaunchPad Pro MK3 for live note entry in a guitar style layout, recorded into M8 with some EQ added from the 4.0 beta.
I made a bunch of patterns in advance and then live muted and jumped patterns while playing solos over the top.

Always loved the sounds of the Yamaha FM chips from the MegaDrive/Genesis, was excited at the prospect of a standalone YM2612 groovebox when I saw the Liven Mega Synthesis, was my first time using a Sonicware product, and for the price it's a very powerful groovebox, but with a lot of quirks and annoyances that make it very frustrating to use, but despite that, it sounds amazing, hopefully some of the issues can be fixed in updates.

I've been really into jazz in recent years and have been attempting to learn some jazz theory and performance though I feel very unconfident playing live, but this was really fun, most of the sequences except the drums are live recorded into the Mega Synthesis, then I'm playing solos on top sometimes. For the drum solo at the end I used the "scatter mode" which is basically the same as Step Jump from the Volcas which worked very well I think, I just wish I had played a crash or something at the end.

A very accomplished piece of jazz.
