Nobleman

By iHz on April 3, 2022 2:51 pm

Last year I lost one of my friends. This track is dedicated to him - Chris.

After Chris passed, I started writing a song called "Nobleman" in LSDJ but I got stuck and couldn't figure out where to go with it. Fast forward to now - I decided to start a new track on the M8 and build around some of the melodies from the LSDJ track.

This track was produced and rendered entirely on the DirtyWave M8 tracker.

This was beautiful.

It reminds me of a trade magazine I read decades ago, where reviewers would praise guitar luminaries like David Gilmore or Eric Johnson for their ability to "sing" with their instruments with emotive inflections analogous to a human voice singing lyrics, right down to articulated words and phrases.

Your melodic mastery of simple square and saw waves would have blown. their. minds.

love the expressive melodies and the driving groove with that melancholy vibe - exceptional track

Wonderful melodies beautiful dedication thank you

A genuinely touching piece of music. Grateful for the note you wrote as well. heart

Thank you! I was especially trying to put a lot of emotion into the ending. I'm glad it came through that way! smile

I meant to leave this comment days ago but got interrupted by something, but this track has been in my head ever since. I was listening to a bunch of submissions in a row at work and this one immediately caught my attention. So much emotion in the melody and the overall feel is really good. I came to the page to leave a comment and saw that it was written for your friend, so sorry for your loss. Knowing the inspiration behind it makes it hit that much harder... I won't try to guess exactly what you were feeling as you wrote this, but I feel like the melody expresses it quite clearly. I saw that you mentioned you had tried to really make the ending emotional, and. I definitely think you succeeded. The way that everything drops out and lets the melody continue on by itself is haunting and heartbreaking. Really nice work and a really wonderful tribute.
