GS Glitch feat. Tommaso

today a weird beat/song. after a week of tons of music playing (some pop with the Manyband and some avantgarde with the free jazz folks), managed to squeeze one out, not totally inspired but also not the worst beat ever made. played finger drums on top of a guitar loop by my friend, then added bass and performed the weird koala sampler effects.

Old: my fav part of it tbh is the ending where the beat disappears and becomes just glitches.

New: fav part is now the chord composition and guitar work. It might not be a decent production or drums or bass but it has some potential and is kinda fun to listen to! Piano part is way too random overall but it has its moments. Finally, Idk why I'm so critical of it. It's a quick beat made on ipad and guitar, in less than 6 hours. Pretty amazing in a way! And another step in the right direction big_smile

LE: should have known to do a bit more separation between A and B parts in the drums. could have been cymbals on B part or just a slightly different groove. piano also constantly going right now, would have been nice to leave more space. I think the time pressure made us a bit afraid of listening and finding the groove. We really only found the core of this song about 3-4 hours in, so it was v tight. just leaving this here for my future reflection.

Oooo, swanky. The funky guitar is really nice and so is the sporadic key sweeps. I'm here for it.

It wouldn't be the same without the start though. Also, the ending is kinda creeping me out.

I like the vibe here. the guitar is relaxed and smooth, the beat is fresh and the glitches are pretty cute.

Heh. True. I actually kinda revisited my view on the song now. I still really like the ending cause that's my kinda weird combination of groovy and weird, but the start is quite chill too, I can see that now

Yay! I used the j Dilla trick to put the snares before the beat, it improved the groove a lot and made it fresher. Once i had the piano and everything in, I think it sounded a bit too crowded. But it's to the point, and it is also a time capsule smile

Funky! Very fun listen. Good job. I love those "glitchy" slides on the e-piano.

Tasty jam with these lush and smooth vibes, so good heart

smoooov :> neat bits and bobs that pop in and out

thx big_smile gotta learn to judge it less in the moment, cause I was really unsure about this one when recording and because of that I think I forked it up

provided funky feel from 1st sec. nice high-piched el. piano abtractions over the solid base.
