Blue City Life

Blue city life. When you're blue, you're in the city, and you're alive! Ft Bernard Purdie sample on drums.

I have two versions on video. Second take:

First take:

Drums by the great Bernard Purdie from his producer drums album vol 1. Bass and piano by me, with built in instruments from Logic!

I continued the saved file from last time, and used a different drum sample but the same piano and bass sounds.

My goal was to compose a funky song that I can play with the band, potentially with me on the bass on the left hand. I think this will qualify, it's really fun to play! In truth there were a couple more takes before the "first" take, that didn't make the cut. But these are the first video takes tho!!! I didn't even set up my good piano this week, I was out and about most of the time. But now it will be the jazz festival, and I'm free until August, so it will be a month of fun and music and maybe some new projects!

Awesome grooooove, such good vibes, love the improvs heart

I'm not in a city, though I might be blue and I'm definitely alive, so this song was definitely made for me.
Awesome grooves.

Lots of great vamping in here, and Purdie gels well with it (you keep good company).  Favorite bit is the strident riff the keys get into from ~0:38 til a bit past the minute mark and again a little before the end.

Another Purdiefied banger. I like this jam out phase. Happy 26th week! The key work is dope once again.

Groovy groovin' groove, groovemaster.
Stankface all the way.

NOT ME LISTENING TO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME CHAOTICALLY

muhahahahahahah
