Lightning Quick / Blinding Lights

WEEK 4!!  The kiddo handled the vocals this week.  He was racing one of his favorite cars around the house and I got inspired.  He speaks in Bb major a lot, not hard to find a melody in his voice.  The car sound was a GT3 in Forza Motorsports

Everything recorded, sequenced and rough mixed on the M8 - just did a quick buss compression per track and eq to the master track in Reaper - I love the 24 channel out for USB-C Tim added this last update - I was a bit heavy handed on the f/x channel and could dial it back.

Here's the subject of the song:

damn that bass i love it. and the vocals really give it that extra life. it really comes together in the best way

What a creative way  to structure a track.  It sounds great (especially matching the tone of the voice)!

(I still have yet to use the 24-channel out from the last update; I'm still finding ways to abuse MTT tongue)

Thank you so much!!!  For post-pro it's so nice to be able to just run it through a daw as breakouts and try different effects if something isn't sitting quite right.  MTT is awesome and I've tried some humanization with it, but I got it acting weird with chance commands, I bet there are a ton of fun ways to exploit it xD.

Woah!

This is great work. Solid use of the kiddo speech's. Like the car on the background as well.

The 80's inspired aesthetic is very well done. Synths curation, drums samples are super cool.

Well played!

You are SERIOUSLY good! I’m figuring on getting a M8 sometime, but you’re getting me  excited about the possibilities.

Excellent mid-80s feel here - and the spoken melody is great, perfect cuts and chops. Car effects are the final touch. Polished!

Thank you!  It's what I grew up on - I thought the Airwolf theme song was the coolest sounding thing in the world (still do), and little man is a huge source of inspiration.

Beautiful compliment, thank you!  I just love this stuff, and if you're on the fence about the m8 you might try putting together a headless one and get started with learning the workflow - that's how I got sold on it.  After the initial learning cliff (took me a few months of tapping at it) it's so fast to scratch out ideas and turn them into huge sounds.  Definitely took a lot of the grind out of production.  Even now, there's still so much to learn.
