the other week someone said my tracks were sounding very much like 'lofi post rock'.  leant into that vibe a bit this week.

set myself the challenge of only using guitar and drums

listening back, mixed way too much to the left speaker but never mind

started off with a riff on my bass vi intending a cure-esque vibe.  changed dramatically but still kept the bass vi line

It was me. And I'm glad! This is great. I won't even complain about the super-high volume and the abrupt ending as both somehow fit the lofi post-rock aesthetic.

Nitpick: the drums use very high frequencies pretty loud while the rest of the sounds are more mellow/warmer (even if super distorted). Try this: take your final file and EQ it on the master like so:

then the end result will sound more authentically "cheap cassette tape". Tell me what you think!

It needs a double digit tempo, but this is a comfy mess to live in.
