Week 4

Gear used:
- DFAM
- Octatrack
- Ableton

Did a jam session with the Octatrack & the DFAM:
- Octatrack had a Kick & a Snare running on percentage based conditions
- DFAM ran through a thru track on the Octatrack, volume set to scene A
- Octatrack had three tracks set up with record buffers at various lengths from the DFAM in, volume set to scene B
- Fucked around for about 20 minutes (after spending about an hour figuring out how to get the record buffers working) while recording in Ableton
- Hacked up the recording into chunks, arranged accordingly, did some weird glitching and then exported.

I was pretty happy with the outcome, I've been trying to get recording in the OT like this for awhile and it was a good outcome. There were some volume issues, but these were cut out and fixed in post.

Going to figure out this cross-fading more on the OT.

Reminder: make sure to hit the right record button, if you press Rec1 and the audio source is in channel C, there's gonna be no sound.

So much of that can be attributed to the DFAM, even without the OT & post-editing. It's a great device.

That gif sums up the track perfectly!

The hook was an amazing discovery, it was adding one additional patch cable to the DFAM and I was like "oh damn, this is something". I was really happy that I was recording at the time.

This was a lot of fun to listen to -- cool stuff!
