Did you ever use Acid Pro? The audio stretch on the vocal samples reminds me of that time in my existence.
Its like an interlude/intro to the "Tentacle Jungle Hellbreaks" (I say this because the weekly player jumped straight into it and good times were had by all.

it's weird how much video game music has influenced my music. earlier iterations of this reminded me of that one giant tree arena from Unreal Tournament 2003.

I haven't, no. these audio stretches were all done in Ableton's lovely time stretching fun 
I hadn't made the connection between the two tracks, however I like the suggestion!
