USE THE TOM AS A KICK DRUM

By hieroglitch on June 26, 2022 11:49 pm

another tr06 "only" recording. experimentation with the internal bitcrush distortion, along with cuts/fades in Ableton.

I love how the gain/compression bleeds the bass, I do not love how challenging it was to perform with it. It's fine though.

Using the low tom parameters, I was able to get a kick/kick adjacent sound, I've been experimenting with trying to get this for awhile now, and happy with the results. It leaves the bass drum free to do more bass line related things.

I've gotten this comparison a few times and it's always a welcome comparison. Thank you.

Ah thanks! Came about through enthusiasm with a friend about how the TR06 can be such an incredible device with its range of limitations. I think I said something to this effect in the conversation, and felt it may be suitable as a demo name for the track.

If you're interested in getting a proper release, I'd suggest either giving my IG a follow, or better yet, follow me on Bandcamp. I just released some of the TB03 stuff and I'll be releasing some of the tr06 later this year.
