42. was it worth it?

callback to sub letting using field recordings from this same house where i stayed in april. this time in very heavy rain, with water spilling off the roof onto the porch. huge 3-day rainstorm passed through here. the meteorologists call it an "atmospheric river".

trip has been more fun than the last one in some ways and much less fun in others. this was the third week here - time to reflect. time to face some consequences, feel some pain. learn some lessons - maybe.

appropriately, it seems some flavours of in vain and carry me into the night seeped into this track. that hadn't been my intention but i like the result, as this is sort of chapter 2 of that whole trip i was on at the time, after all.

this needs more but as with many wb tracks it's "finished enough". there's a half baked alternate version using the forward guitar sample instead of the backwards. might polish that one up and put it somewhere.

the final section is part of the recording where i had the "guitar" chords playing on loop in the background while recording the rain at the door, having the music playing in the actual space.
