Nightmare over the nightscape

By hent03 on September 11, 2022 11:46 am

I imagine the traces of a nightmare, pestering you like falling rain as you wander a city that has long forgotten how to sleep. You push past the crowds of people and robots and into an alleyway where there is a broken payphone. People say it is cursed and that is why it was never removed, but it always offers you a strange comfort. The rumbling of the city fades as you take the receiver in hand. There is no sound at the other end of the line (there never is) but you always feel like someone might be listening as you whisper the words you always whisper on nights like this one.

"I phoned it in. Forgive me."

Your words echo, hollow. Nobody is listening. Still, you feel the rhythm of the city in the distance, and you know that the beat will go on for another week.

A moody cyberpunk synthwave track!

A beautiful melancholic piece with a lot of subtlety. I loved this one. The arp from the 0:50 mark really brings the synthwave vibe. Beautiful track.

It feels more homely, despite the heavy melancholy, perhaps the heavy weight of a corporation looming over you
that's my interpretation, I like yours too a lot

musically it is no nightmare. I love this quietness and melancholy in here.

such a dreamy vibe with a sense of fascination and marvel to it, while carrying a slight nostalgic melancholy, like old-photographs dancing with the perfect color of yesterday heart

Getting a late night vibe for sure when the mundane world is gone and secret and hidden things come out to play.

Love the calming feel the overall progression of the track has.  The main theme outro has a cool mysterious tone to it.  Excellente!

A calming piece of sorts but I actually love the sawtooth sounding synth tone prominent after the intro melody.  Reminds me of old 80s horror films. smile. Even the opening melody sound to a degree.  Maybe my brain is broken.  Haha.  I like it!
