52boomboom33

This week I challenged myself to take the first 5 synth presets from the Deluge and try to make them sound like entirely different sounds while also trying to get them to work together musically. In the end though, I basically just bathed everything in varying levels of distortion because it reminded me of the Boom Boom Satellites, played with decay/sustain levels, and then added a simple drum beat. The results might give you a headache (sorry). Regardless, I actually learned a lot doing this, and will probably do it again soon.

I like distortion so sounds good to me.  It's not really harsh to my ears.  Kind of has a dreamy feel if anything.

I like how the distortion changes the color of the synth. It's actually rather subtle, absolutely no headache. It's great you're trying to figure out how to push Deluge to its limits and experiment to see how it can be subverted/coerced into doing something it should not be doing. smile

This distortion ambient is nice! Even in the noise it is so peaceful atmosphere. You accomplished to make those different sounds work together smile

Super chill, nice distortion too! I’d love to play with a Deluge one day.

So everything had distortion on it?  So what's the problem?   big_smile

Great track this one!  Excellent blend of crunchy noise and lovely piano/keys tones. Kick is nice and deep too.  Possibly one of your best ones I reckon!  Always worth experimenting and pushing the envelope.

Everything OK with me. Nice dreamy wonderland. I used to play my Korg MS20 through a fuzz and wah-wah pedal. Something I should do again. Beautiful track.

Great title : ). Looking over a lot of presets I have between various sound designers and their packs, distortion is used a lot. The end result is what matters. Sounds good. The track, smooth sailing in the stratosphere. Just bring an oxygen mask.

Really cool synth work

Lmao I forgot the boom boom satellites, I should check them out again. Great tune, experimentation with limits is always so much fun.

I like it, very relaxing with the distortion spreading the waves evenly.

The bath of distortion was pretty darn soothing to me.  That lead sound balanced everything out very nicely.

Really happy you guys all liked the distortion and appreciated the playing around and the tinkering. This has been the most experimental I've gotten with the Deluge and it was the most fun I had with it since I bought it. That said, I didn't feel like it was something other people would dig. I'm really glad you guys got into the experimentation; makes me feel like I should do way more of it and just try to pull new sounds from the thing. smile

This!!  big_smile

Love the fuzz.  Gives everything a really interestingly warm sound.
