Voyage of the Muffin Man

Muffin Man? Good question. The more I listen to this track the more uplifted I feel, and muffins rise.
Inspiration/ limitation for this week was:
- No solos
- A full song worth of structure
As someone who's invested 90% of their musical energy into being a lead guitarist for many years, it's pretty bloody hard to pick up a guitar and not just noodle around, so this was ultimately pretty challenging.
Born from the same template as last week, but upped the tempo to 100pbm from the rather chill 85.
Got all recording and a rough mix done by Sunday morning (YAY!). Sure, I ran another few mixes this morning (LOL), but I had an up loadable track from Sundays efforts so the pressure was off. Surely a step in the right direction to stop procrastinating as much.
Quite a few more hours went into this one than the last few and I think the extra effort is noticeable.
Song consists of:
1 drum track
2 bass tracks
12 guitar tracks (Because I double track everything like an idiot)
So I suppose its 6 guitar "sounds", low gain, mid gain and some filtered variations.
Ruined my right arm on Saturday from pushing myself too hard. Guitar playing is getting better, but I need to take it easy (practicing). Can't hold a coffee mug, can't use a mouse, can't play guitar. Aarrgh!
NOTE TO SELF:
Have you spent an hour recording/mixing but getting bored?
KEEP GOING! IT PAYS OFF! THE EFFORT IS WORTH IT!
---> Not necessarily musically worth it, but its fulfilling as hell
