A dear friend asked me to make a jazzy hip hop track for this week. I tried.

Super weird! I like it. Super into the Piano. There's some strange stuff going on in the background here. Only thing I would say is that the drum sounds themselves could probably be a little better, as they're a little stiff & dry sounding. Drums are hard though, they're the most difficult to get to sound how you want...

Thank you! I will keep the drum thing in mind. Getting them to sound natural is hard, as you said. Any suggestions?

Sparing use of FX such as reverb, EQ, and filters helps... also if you can use all your drums from one source in a track I find it helps, because their sounds already fit in the same pallette without tweaking. (Using one drum machine, or sampling multiple things from one track)
Keep up the good work!

Thanks a lot! Started experimenting with filter automation and I can already hear the difference.
