Inspired, not inspired...

Well hello there smile

First submission. I found this site through Catthew O. He also produces music over at Battle of the Bits as BubblegumOctopus where I have an account (as growley).

I plan to use this site as a way to write more (obviously), but more specifically to learn more about DAW software (REAPER) and VSTs/FX plugins which I need much more experience in. I am used to doing chiptune music, almost exclusively with trackers, but hopefully doing a song a week this way will help me learn the ins and outs of reaper and get faster with it (I already learned a LOT doing this basic track).

As for the track itself, its not very inspired. I just signed up today so I whipped this up in a few hours without much planning, just little bits tacked onto each other 'til its over. So, I am very inspired to do more submissions here and get better, but not so much on this track smile

Looking forward to the following weeks!

Tools used:
REAPER
Albion ONE

I'm surprised this doesn't have any comments yet, some great ideas in there. that arpeggio around 2/3 through reminds me of the Unreal soundtrack.

nice little piece, would sound great with some rolling orchestral percussion.

Thanks 0F! Yeh I might have to re-visit this idea at some point and do a more polished extended version with a bit more time. And you're definitely right about the percussion, but I've recently formatted and haven't installed the Darwin percussion patches yet!

It's pretty epic in just about all senses of that word. Which VSTi's are you using?

Hey Devieus. I used the Albion ONE package (in the desc). I think it's capable of a wide orchestral range but the epic style seemed to appeal to me off the bat. The big low brass section was hard to ignore smile

It's so organic, I love it! I'mma have to take another listen!
