I think you still got "the wonkiness" in your beats, and I still remember your Maschine series. A lot of quality stuff came from there. Maybe "beatmaking" as a label is a little narrow-minded, but your music always comes across as good, no matter what.
Now I'm jumping straigh to check your Bleeoop alter ego 
There's nothing wrong with branching out, and honestly, this beat is as good as it can be.
