Another crazy week gone by.
Another one where I thought I was going to quit.
And another song started a while ago, and finished this week.
Can't get over how much music I've managed to finish thanks to this challenge. Feels kinda surreal.
Many things inspired this song.
- An old loop of sine waves melodies.
- The impulse to break what I'd made, resampling and mangling it into something else.
- The impulse to bring back the original idea.
- Driving home from a gig late last night, listening to Frank Ocean's Blonde.
- The necessity of singing quietly while my son was sleeping this afternoon.
- Dustsucker's kind comment about one of my sounds (which I decided to reuse in a different context for this song).
- Weekly Beats itself (This started around week 3 or 4, but I didn't know how to finish it at the time).
- All the lovely musicians I've had the pleasure of interacting with here.
- Whoever made the BS DYNASTAR bass preset on the M8 Community Sound Pack!
It's been another difficult week and I haven't had nearly as much time as I'd like to listen, comment and respond, here. I feel like a shitty community member. I want to make time, but work has been insane... This coming week should be a little more chilled. Looking forward to filling my ears with all your music!
