Former teen model turned gangster/rapper and video artist, "glen stefani" started blowing up the bedroom/basement electronic music scene in 1996 as "DJEJ." His actual mixtape "Skillful Methods DEMO" gained respect and much hype maintaining steady rotation in the highschool car stereo circuit (1997-'99). While attending Art school he performed and recorded as half of the experimental noise band Cat or Axe?, whose TV-wall laden live shows piqued the interest of minimal house producer Geoff White (Ghostly International) who later remixed the material and spoke about the project as being "all over the place, but with some amazing moments" in an interview with Gear magazine. While still in Ohio, Glen also produced tracks for the hip hop outfit "Ol'Scandleous." During this time Glen's co-producer in the group, Dr.Optic, befriended Shaggy 2dope from the Insane Clown Posse while in rehab, however the Ol'Scandelous demo CD-R was ultimately deemed "too serious" to be put out by the Juggalos. In 2003 Glen relocated to Chicago and started using Ableton Live (@v4) to continue song writing under the monikor "glenvs.eric" ('03-'06,) exploring plunderphonic sampledelic absurdities and lush glitchy soundscapes and making b-side remixes for friends bands. The music he made in this period was featured prominently in many video projects created by Glen & associates.
He performed prominently using live visuals at various loft parties and underground shows around Chicago under the moniker Glen Stephani for better part of the '00s. In the mid 2000's Glen was aligned with the A/V label Psymbolic. Also during this time Glen began performing with asian-fusion electronic group Electric Shadows. In 2011 he was recruited to become the live visual component of the techno act The North and performed at many shows and parties all over Chicago & the midwest. Currently Glen is recording under the moniker "Vín Mariani," and relocated to North East Los Angeles. FUN FACT : is an actual twin.
