善悪の夢 (Dreams of Good & Evil)

Really cool drawing by artist andmorefine https://twitter.com/andmorefine

Got up this Sunday morning and did an intensive session to compose this, I really should stop procrastinating and start things earlier but anxiety is sapping my energy big time.

This is the final boss battle between the evil space demon emperor and our brave mermaid princess. She took the fight from her kingdom to outer space for a final confrontation!

Again meant to sound very NES-like, with Konami style drums and the famous Sunsoft bass that you've heard in things like Gremlins 2 and Journey to Silius.

This closes that little chiptune trilogy, it was fun but I think next week I'm due for some more synthpop.

Hope everyone is in good health, have a wonderful week!

Proper intense fight. Now to do it all again in hard mode with the synth mixed in. They even give the little guys frowns in it.

you all should be gamesound designers for classic 2d games. xD good job

This is legit boss battle sound-tracking.  I can totally see the game in my mind.  Lots of urgency to it which simulates the anxiety of battling the big boss.

Excellent! heart Tu devrais essayé d'en faire une par semaine en plus du synthpop cool

Damn, celle là est intense. Presque punk rock!

Il y a une énergie impressionnante dans cette musique. Awesome work as usual, and I definitely feel you on the anxiety.

Super

Yeahhhhh, this is fucking wild!  As much as I miss your 80s nostalgic tunes you were crank out, these video gamey chip tuney ones are equally as awesome.  There’s so much energy in this track man, that ripping staccato line is so cool.  Keep em coming.

Great take on the whole chiptune thing.  Love all the crunchy noise and almost metal vibe with some riffs/beats.

Nailed it. Love the lightning-esque sounds that pepper it too, they're perfect!

By the way, are you studying Japanese? I feel like I read that on one of your earlier posts.

Hahaha for some reason the frown mention made me think of Japanese Kirby vs American Kirby!

Merci merci! And sorry to hear about the anxiety, I guess it is normal due to the circumstances but it don't make it pleasant. Hang in there! heart

Thank you very much! I will definitely come back to chip during the WB smile

Thanks! I had fun learning about using the short and long noise types for NES, there's really cool sounds to get out of that.

Many thanks, those were fun to make!! And yes, I'm studying Japanese! It will be almost a year now that I am studying kanji specifically; I'm at 1560/2136 for jōyō kanji, getting there! I get to learn a lot of vocabulary along the way, but I am severely lacking knowledge in the grammar department still. I know it is a weird approach to start with the kanji but I find them fascinating! Especially being able to understand the language from an etymological standpoint, that never ceases to amaze me. I'm starting to put more time in grammar so that should help a lot.

dude HELL YEAH THIS PUMPS ME UP FOR THE BOSS FIGHT.  yet another great chiptune from you.  nice work

that made my morning! cool bendys. love the ending. beeping because I have only one heart left.

siiiiccckkkkkkk

Alien Attack Mode!  Get into formation!  This is rad... bad ass chiptune thrash drumming. Love the pitch bends and modulations.  Also the risers!! So good.

chiptune music at its best. Great energy and that brings back memories of those 80s video games that were so hard that we'd never make it past level 1. Ah c'etait bien!

Boss battle extreeeeme. Nailed the brief! smile Be well!

Yes! This is so good! I heard this while brushing my teeth and now they are so white!

Boss boss battle, boss! A frenzy, not sure my thumbs can fire fast enough, but that melody, I'll just dance around!

Un.Real.

Great description! Boss battle for sure! This also reminds me of the boss I would play the game for 30 minutes to get to and never be able to beat. Stage 4 in Contra. Those vertical levels were hard AF. Great job on this trilogy man. I could listen to these all day. It blows my mind you knock them out in one day. I could only imagine what a song sounds like that you put a full week into! Bravo.

This is so well done!  I wish i knew more about making this chip style because there so many cool little things going on in this!  Great work on the chip trilogy!

Lovely melody structure, very satisfying. Great job on the chiptune series, it was top notch. Synthpop sounds incredible though haha, definitely looking forward to that.

this is the feeling i get every-time i'm trying to clean off germs  & remember to wash my hands right now... really captures the anxious vibes!  nice work!

Huge thanks everyone for listening and leaving such sweet comments!! heart You all rock!

I really love all the drum breaks in these chip tunes, I feel like this could so easily be death metal with just a few instruments swapped out.

I def hear on those anxious vibes messing with productivity.  I wish I could do the same because by the time Saturday rolls around I gots even more anxiety since I haven't finished anything yikes  This track is super fun and an awesome way to end the chip tune trilogy.  The drums are addictive and love those contra-like rolls with the synths.  Menacing!

I like the punctuation of sounds and how they pervade each section to create a running, hurried feel.
