Take My Hand

By Gab Manette on January 25, 2020 10:56 pm

I've had a piece of this song in my 'ideas' folder for a good few months. I'd revisit it from time to time but couldn't figure out how to continue it. This week I finally did, and it's a great feeling!

That cover art! Joli. Bien joué.

Love that feeling when you get inspiration on an old idea, congrats.  This track is awesome, love the 80s synthpop vibe.  I'd love to hear Rick Astley singing on this, it'd be perfect.

I absolutely love these sensitive tunes of yours. There's something about the the synthwave soundscape that really brings out the sweetness of the writing. Downloaded!

aaaaaa yes I love it. This gives me all of the happy shivers heart

heart heart heart

Good enough to put in your trapper keeper™!

This is a "walking on the beach at sunset with your shades" kind of song while a montage of the past summer memories flash by.  More introspective.  Nice chord progression and tempo make it a perfect arrangement. A bit more somber.  Like those low low toms that boom in every once in while.  Glad you revisited the song. Well worth it!

Legit.  So do you use hardware or software mostly to record with?

Really nice arrangement, and great sounds too!

Thank you! Oh man, Rick Astley, that would be most excellent indeed!

Ah now that's just rad! Thanks for that awesome custom gif! I installed blender yesterday, I'm going to follow tutorials to get started and build from there. Thanks again for the recommendations!!

Thank you kindly!! And you hit the nail on the head, this is very much about memories and introspection! I think that's why I was a bit anxious to get it right.

Danke! I only have used software so far, I have a midi keyboard controller but all the sounds are done with VSTs and drum samples.

Thank you so much! I'm happy you picked up on the double claps heart

I love it. I'm getting Promises Ltd. vibes here. The mix on this is pretty much perfect too!

this is amazing, i love the chord progression and the sounds are perfect for that retrosynth feel

Such a big sound. Had this playing while I was getting some work done, and this punched me in the face with nostalgia for some reason (a lot of your tracks do this)

I have a song like that, still gotta figure that one out.

Great result on your end though.

Thank you! I spent extra time on the mixing to make it as close as I could to what I wanted, glad it comes through! I had to look up Promises Ltd, was not familiar with them. They have some excellent synths going!!

Thank you! I'll be looking forward to hear your revisited track if/when you get to it smile

It's always awesome when you can figure out how to use an old idea.  This definitely has a great sentimental feel to it.

lovely!

This is really an incredible tune. Awesome job.

Really don't have words for this, it's fantastic. You've really captured the 80's synthpop style and given it your own twist! Really nostalgic and sentimental track. Lovely.

I continue to be amazed at how evocative your music is. Takes me to such a nice place.

Holy hell, another stellar track!

another, sun-kissed piece of music... a beautiful dive into an alternate 80´s reality. How could anyone say no smile

Like the anticipation that builds up from intro, then moves along nicely. A little more melancholy of mood this week perhaps. Its on the border of the moods maybe.

I think on the border is very accurate! I tried to do something nostalgic but with the melancholic tint, especially towards the end smile

I needed a pick-me-up and this did it! Great work!

YOU GOT THE 80S IN YOU MAN. WELL DONE! THESE TRACKS TAKE ALOT OF WORK

Oh yes please I'll take your hand!

Ah yais that lovely chord progression!  Some of those chords get ya right in the feels.  Excellent drum groove too.  Well done!
