Solstice

I wasn't sure how to end the year. Actually, I didn't know I would get this far!

This was quite the challenge and a fantastic journey!

I would like to thank my dear friend Jérôme for introducing me to Ableton, for his patience with all my questions, for giving me honest feedback and always trying to make me push things a bit further. Thank you for convincing me to do Weekly Beats and for believing in me!

I'd like to also thank my girlfriend Louise, for being super supportive all year, listening to my WIPs and cheering me on, cheering me up also when I'd get discouraged. I'm very lucky to have her as my number one fan smile

Finally I'd like to thank all of you who listened, and even more so all of you who took time to leave comments on my tracks throughout the year. I've been touched several times reading them and they were a great source of encouragement and happiness, more than you know. I'd also like to congratulate everyone on a great year, I discovered so many talented producers, composers and musicians through WB and it was quite a treat to come back every week to listen to your new tracks. I still have some listening to do, I've fallen a bit behind with the holidays and all.

All in all, I have learned so much from this experience, from working at it every week but also from listening to what you all made. I used to wonder about making my own music but didn't really take the plunge, now I have 52 tracks to my name and I'm very happy!

I'll be launching some EPs throughout 2019 with select tracks from WB (some I might tweak a bit!), if you're interested you can follow my pages:

I wish each and every one of you a great 2019, I hope you take some time to rest but also that you keep making music! I will probably be back for Weekly Beats 2020, but for now I mostly just want to take a loooooong nap smile

Happy new year! Bonne Année!

Thank you!! we had a good year I think big_smile

The very essence of mellow goodness. What a way to end the year!

Now I can't stop thinking of Molly Ringwald...

It's been a pleasure listening to your music this year, well done. And well done on this closing track. A very fitting ending.

You did it!!! big_smile So proud!

Great track, synths all fit together just right, glad you had a great year making music.

Hey Gab, It's been great listening to your music throughout the year. Congrats on making all 52 weeks!! Your description above makes it sound like you are relatively new to composition (or maybe I misunderstood). I certainly learned a lot from you and tried to up the bar on my production based on your example.

I like the more subdued 808 drums of this track. Fits really well with the somber feel and slower tempo. Chimes are perfect for a bitter sweet end of year melody. As always, your arrangements are well crafted and very precise while conveying emotion. I've become a fan of your music and look forward to the EPs (I've signed up on your lists).  Happy New Year - I look forward to hearing what 2019 brings in regards to your music. Warm regards, Mike

Thank you so much Mike, I've also had a blast discovering your music this year, you've made some truly awesome and heartfelt tracks! That, paired with your generous comments and encouragement in turn inspired me to push further as well smile I've been playing music forever (piano and accordion mostly) but this was my first year of actually composing and it was incredibly fullfiling! I wish you a happy new year and hope to hear more NWSPR in 2019! All the best, Gab smile

Great end to the year.  It even sounds like music for the closing credits of a movie.  Congrats on making it all 52 weeks and thank you for bringing a great dose of 80's nostalgia to 2018!  Best wishes in the new year!

Thank you. that's very kind! wink

A great, nostalgic sounding track to end with, roll the credits! It's been super fun hearing your tracks every week. Nice description as well, nice to have support from the friends and loved ones in this creative journey! I could easily listen to an EP of your tunes, I'll follow you on those sources. Thanks so much for your listening and commenting - you had some great comments, always fun to read. Yes, time for a long nap, have a good year and will see you in 2020 if not sooner!

Congratulations on making it. The journey is different for everyone, and so are the results. Yours are great. Have a happy new year.

It's been a pleasure to listen to your tracks this year.  I love the sound of the main synth melody and how it wavers a bit.  This should be a theme in Stranger Things season 3 smile  Best of luck in 2019!

Lovely! Again it's a shame I mostly missed you this year, I'm so addicted to peppermint right now heart Good luck with your EPs, I'm doing something similar haha. See you in 2020!

Thank you! Very true that the journey is different for everyone; I very much enjoyed discovering other WBer's music, present company included smile

I've finally got some time as well to catch up on my listening! I love your unique blend of vox, bright pianos and energetic D&B beats, soaring melodies that make me want to fly! Colour Fall would be perfect for a Cave Story like game's soundtrack, it's so energetic and upbeat heart I'll be keeping a close eye on your soundcloud for your upcoming EPs smile

Loooove the closing track... full of good feels and the smooth vibes... *Waving you goodbye, wiping happy tear, final freeze frame ends on John Candy smiling... Have a rad 2019, see you in the 20s... Followed your soundy as Moon Cube Design... Peace and biscuits
