Salto Alto

By Gab Manette on April 12, 2020 9:12 pm

Back to synthpop this week, with a hint of italo disco influences. Energetic synth and drums on top of a Pro-One style mono bass. Mixed drumkits again, Linn and Korg M1. I used a lot of reverse reverb in there, I'm starting to get more comfortable with it. It's a wonderful little trick and I really enjoy the punch it adds.

Hope everyone had a good one! See you in the comments!

Oh yes, the good waves.

There's a lot of sick as hell interplay between the different parts in this one. Pretty much impossible to keep your body still while listening to it.

Fun fun fun. smile . Large, synth super marrant, excellent! Joyeuses Paques.

Nice and uplifting and big big synth sounds.  Very nice.

Sweet sounds and a nice, clean mix. Great job!

Makes me want to pick up my cat and dance. I will probably leave the cat alone though, just to be kind.

Fuck, this is such a jam dude.  Really like everything going on in this track, especially the bass.  So fat and so punchy at the same time.  The reverse reverb sounds awesome on the drums too man.  I usually only use it for transitions but it sounds great within the beat.  Need to steal that technique.

Oh that smooth heavy bass and the synth lines. Funky!

such a funky bassline. brilliant synth and awesome double claps and rimshots. perfect dance music for shure.

Those backing toms make me so happy. This song slaps.

Ça groove smile

mmmm yes funky fresh.  Love the percussion and bass.  Great song all around

Hell yeaaaaaaa. You have this genre on lockdown Gab. Its amazing how you can capture an era in under 2 minutes.

Down and dirty, yeah !!!
Great bassline as always!
Digging this again!

Beverly Hills Disco COP! *Eddie Murphy laugh..... Awesome track

Love the Linn Drums / Pro One combo.  A great pairing like the perfect wine and cheese.  Korg M1 sounding like a good bit like a Prophet 5.  The melodic leads are awesome, super tight. Just what my morning needed!

Ooo very large drums indeed. The synth solo midway is probably my favourite part. Very nice job on the rhythm and bassline especially!

Love the reverse reverb. Actually scratch that, I like it all.

Gab, where are you week 16? Missing my synthwave fix. Hope all is well!

Good times for sure, I'm in, I'm on this trip. tastay. That gif from IPA above, yeah, yeah, that!

Had me on that reverse snare intro thang.  Super tight drums.  The synth lead in the middle reminds me a bit Jan Hammer's jams.

That bassline. MMM. And the panned leads working together. Such good. Much amaze.

gorgeus stuff and very good choiches with the sounds as usual smile  You just wait for Thomas Dolby to start singing any moment... great stuff
