I wanted to compose something that would fit a montage-style early 90s movie scene about day trading, working in a bustling lawyer firm, or something like that. I'm not too sure what I ended up with, but I think it fits the bill.

Several instances of Korg M1 (for the pianos mainly) and Roland D-50, including the infamous Pizzagogo patch, guaranteed to give you some Enya vibes! Also added a few FM tubular bells for extra oomph in places.

EDIT: So sorry I just found out that the first bars are really loud on certain speakers, I forgot to adjust the multiband dynamics while doing the filter pass!

I think it works with what you're going for.  I could also see it being the title music for some 90's tv show set in an office.  Also totally got those Enya vibes.  smile

WOW this is super aesthetic! You nail the vibes every time heart

Really nice space here! Not quite vaporwave but oh so 90s.

Definitely this.  A nice wholesome family TV show intro.  Dude you absolutely nailed the 90s feel.  I love it.  Awesome work on this!

Like the theme song to a 90's office sitcom. Drama, comedy, romance and business life in the 90's. Can even see someone taking a brick of a cellphone out of their briefcase. wink

Really like how you capture a kind of modern nostalgia with your work. smile

I need shoulders pads now. Encore réussi, ca respire super bien, l'esthétique est là. smile

The second you mentioned bustling lawyer firm I then proceeded to hear this as a song that would fit in an Ace Attorney game. You know, when things are happy and light hearted before someone gets murdered. I need to stop playing so much Ace Attorney.

wow the sound selection on this song is absolutely choice, perfect 90's infotainment goodness

You definitely hit the mood you were going for.  I can see the stars of the show turning to the camera and giving a nice little wave with their name fading in.  spot on bud

wow i didn't realise keith mansfield was doing weeklybeats

Dude, I’m hearing 90s infomercial intro.  Like someone’s about to start selling me these game changing kitchen knives and shit after, love it.  Love those FM bells too!  Bell tone is literally the only reason I’ve hung onto my Volca FM.

Ah yes, productivity music, may it promote productivity for all employees. And remember, a smiling employee is a happy employee.

I'M in love with my secretary

Thank you! Yeah I ended up using a few vaporwave-esque tricks but it doesn't come off as that smile Happy to have snagged the 90s feel tho!!

Thank you! I like wholesome big_smile and cheers, my favorite retro period is mid 80s to mid 90s specifically so I'm really happy if I can nail that sound!

I almost put a suitcase/cellphone thing as the image up there hehehehe! and thank you, if I can conjure up some nostalgia with these tracks, that makes me very happy!

Les shoulder pads c'est la vie!! Merci beaucoup! heart

I only played the first one and I had a blast, I should probably give the other ones a shot!

Thank you very much! The M1 and the D-50 are a fun pair big_smile

That's it, I'm hiring you as art director for the show's intro. I don't know if we're making a whole show but we're making the intro with those visuals big_smile

Hehehehe, thank you for that! Keith Mansfield is a legend!

If you call now, you will get not one, not two, but thirty seven units of the Belvedere Omega Sharp Knife Sharpener 2000. That's thirty seven pieces of life changing kitchen hardware for just as many easy payments of $39.99 (S&H not included)

I love the sound of FM bells too! I don't know the Volca but it might put out some really punchy basslines too, FM is great for a thick bass sound in general.

Nadine a fait le bon choix en allant au collège de secrétariat moderne, et c’est le meilleur héritage à lui laisser.

heart Thank you so much!

I hear more of an 80s TV theme like LA Law... love your description and details on work method. Really sets the context.  You definitely nailed it! I know I often comment on your drum rolls, but these are especially good. Very full and great sweeping stereo pan. Nice warm low end in the bass of the piano. The higher note embellishments are really fluid and nicely orchestrated. Well done!

Ha! Officewave! 10 million points for that woodblock, man this stuff is so awesome.

Many, many thanks! and oh man, LA Law had an epic theme, brass, strings, and that sax! the early 90s are just the late 80s if you think about it, it kinda blurs (at least in my head).

It's so awesome how you can pinpoint the tweaks/details I worked on; For instance, since I did not use a bass instrument, I piped 5 of the 10 piano voices through my bass parallel compression chain. I found those really cool toms in one of the M1's patches, super happy that you like them as well! heart

Woohoo 10 million!! Big thanks big_smile I love woodblocks, rimshots and claves, I think I want to include them more often from now on.

I see a late 80's mom turning and smiling at the camera, some kids playing soccer in the background, then look and waving at the camera, definitely a dog character.

Awesome track, great mix IMO (100% because of the woodblocks :] )

another lovely vignette of a bygone age smile The soundscape is absolutely spot on. This makes the images just roll by one´s inner eyes... great!

Yep you nailed the instrument selection again!  Those piano chords are very 90s Wall Street.  Oooh and that last low hit/chord almost sounded like the opening to the Top Gun theme.  Thank you for jarring my nostalgic brain loose smile

This is awesome and clever! smile

Starring the young spritely versions of Bruce Willis, Cybil Shepphard, Demi Moore. Special guest appearances by the always charming Danny Devito.... LOVE!!!

I thank you, the woodblocks thank you, and Woofy thanks you (he talks! but only in 4th wall breaking fashion, cue the laugh track)

Ah! It totally is! well, in a way; It's a FM Synth tubular bell, it's an unmistakable sound. Enya uses it a lot, you can hear it for instance about 10 seconds into 'Book of Days'. Thanks for listening! heart

What a cast!! heart thank you!

Smashing, wonderful work!

nailed the vibe!

Yeah nailed it! Let's go team, we can do this! I'm in an office now, and I want to play this song and go get a stapler and clipboard to pose for the montage of productivity. I think someone has asked you previously, but real or virtual D50? I like me some Enya vibez!

Now I could open Wordstar and Lotus 123 and be extra productive!

You nailed the late 80's sound. If you drop a sax solo now I think I'll pass out!!!

Oh my god, I am getting nostalgic......

Ça sonne Vangelis on dirait, c'est super bon! heart
