It's raining

Hey all,

I participated in the WB 2016 challenge, had a ton of fun and made a couple friends. I had to stop in the middle of the year because of work. I didn't know WB was back until I decided to check out the website a few days ago. I did a little thing this week and I wanted to share, so this is perfect (the two facts may be related). I hope it's OK to step in like that on week 47...

A bit of context about my submission: it's an arrangement of the soundtrack of this video. Despite the sadness of the situation, I found the vocals pretty good, so I dropped it in my DAW. I was looking for a warm bluesy groove to fit the ternary flow. The chords he sings to are pretty straightforward: Am7/DM7. Throw in a E7 and you got your pseudo-blues. I gave him a classic trio: a double bass, electric keys and a beat, then I added a few dub echoes and a choir for the redemption of that dude lying on the sidewalk.:) In the end, I didn't have to edit the file at all, the vocal recording remained as is.

Lyrics (correct me if I'm wrong):

It's raining, wo-ho,
It's calling, yes lord, ha!
Gotta get some o'the rain...
Drug sale right there, looking, drug sale...
What the hell? No way! Oh-oh! What the hell?
My boy, are you good?

Yea I remember you. Welcome back, it'd be fine if you joined on the last week honestly.

Great rendition by the way, you can really feel the rain, and the other stuff too.

very cool rendition... streetwise and rough, jazzy.
