renovation blues

By friendlyperiscope on October 13, 2024 5:22 pm

little guitar piece again.  played with this little melody last week, recorded it this week.  maybe next week i'll figure out what key i played in!  doing some renovation/rearranging/sorting, thus the title.  blues because it amused me as a title.

as usual, guitar into quad cortex, external distortion pedal for some spice in the overdubs/solo parts and op-1 recording all of this and crushing it for the outro.

tried ardour this time for "mastering" (which still means guessing how loud i should make the thing), might use it again next week.  also tried ableton recently, but it really does not want to run on my odd machine/on linux, it runs fine for a minute and then crashes.  maybe i'll figure this out before the year ends.  might be interesting to actually record more than ~one take for things.

all in all, fun week, surprisingly.  next week: further renovations and maybe a new entity will arrive.  shall see.  (what to we call these updates?  synth-blogging?  surprisingly fun also.)

really lovely playiing here.
good luck w/ the reno!
