Sky Runner

By freezedream on March 15, 2026 9:31 pm

Sky running is a high tech, futuristic version of parkour or free running. Sky runners practice their craft in the clouds above skyscrapers, playing at the interface of space and gravity and risking their lives for the thrill.

This week features a shameless use of the Amen break, a pad sample from a Yamaha CS1X synth (that I wished I could buy when I was a teenager), a choir, BBC strings, a hidden Rhodes, self-recorded acoustic guitar and bass from NI Razor.

Enjoy!

You've nailed the vibe there.

I'm imagining a PS1 era game in the chillout room of a 90's superclub.

One of my favs for this week!

Some great changes around 1:20 took me by surprise in a good way.

Great work. Loving the dreamy vibes this evokes for me

Never "skyrun" or truley parkoured but, I have illegally climbed multi story buildings and jumped from roofs, And also climbed up 30-is feet of boulders without gear earlier in life. Wouldn't be a bad sound track to all of that.

Thanks Nick, glad you found the track inspiring!

Sounds like a blast - I don't think that sort of thing if for me, through. Only in my imagination!

At my age... Probably not for me anymore either. I don't have the strength anymore tongue

I'm in love with this track, I hear this kind of pad often and I really love it everytime, but this time you really brought the best out of it, full nostalgia but also kind of modern, I especially love the whole second section everything opens up and the harmony you created is simply the best, the strings fits so well, amazing work heart

Thank you so much! I think it could be a good soundtrack for a video game.

As others have said, this is the perfect soundtrack to your theme!
I can easily imagine this shining in a PlayStation game or a sci-fi/cyberpunk blockbuster.
Great stuff!
