All That Lost Time

By freezedream on March 8, 2026 11:20 pm

This week I was planning to try and write another song. By Friday I was still optimistic, until I was rear-ended in my car - it's probably a write off... These things happen and it's still part of God's good plan, even though I may not know how at the moment. Anyway, Saturday I was mostly recovering (I'm fine, just mild whiplash and shock), so I wasn't able to invest the time and energy into making a song. Instead I ended up making some melodic breakbeat!

I felt like there wasn't really enough variation or finesse in the final track, but that's really because I ran out of time.

I chose the name based on how the music made me feel - it reminded me of melancholic reminiscing.

Enjoy and thanks for listening!

P.S I had today off, so I was able to make a quick walkthrough video if you're interested. Sorry the VST GUIs didn't show up in the OBS capture. I know how to fix that now!

Great breaks with a nice heavy kick to give 'em oomph. The pads are open and airy and with that piano it all triggers big nostalgia for me. So I guess...title checks out

I really like those top bright delayed pianos. It sounds great. You and 2haf should create a cool DnB band as I hear multiple similarities on you guys styles!

Well played!

Sorry to hear about your car! Glad you're okay, but it's never fun. This piece has beautiful movement and texture. The layers of smooth string pads with staccato arps are fantastic. Feels like floating down a cool river on a hot summer day.

Thanks MRDRCAT! I originally had a different kick, so glad the final choice worked well. Glad you felt some nostalgia!

Thank you djippy! Yeah I think the piano is the icing on the audiocake - the track really needs that bright melody.

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll have a listen to 2hafs music and maybe a collaboration is in store!

Thanks Tom Foolery, yeah the car situation is a bit sad.

Thank you too for the kind words about the track! I like the floating down a cool river imagery that it conjured up for you. heart
