wanted to see what everyone was doing musically before this year. to get the ball rolling, one of my tracks from a few years ago popped up on random, and I think it's one you guys might like.

Interesting stuff, George. I like how it sounds somewhat "chip"ish, without being chipish.

my website has a bunch of info about previous work: vgiles.net

BUT, back in 07 I formed and played bass in, arranged and composed for a jazz group called Cosmic Debris (thanks, Zappa): this and teaching was my main income source for quite a while, but it folded in a bit and I went overseas. http://www.mp3.com.au/cosmicdebris

In 09 I was part of an ongoing experimental (I use that term loosely) project called Fracture, we released an album on the Clinical Archives netlabel. http://www.archive.org/details/ca340_f (very cool label I must say). This music is free improvisation/developmental/deconstructional music, with the idea of exploring the sounds of the environment in which we were playing, mainly using instruments, but not always. This project is ongoing now after a fair bit of time off, with more a focus on treating found sounds and improvising with them. Coming soon!

I also write concert music and such, have done a couple of short film scores and other stuff. vgiles.net for this kinda thange.

In December I released a concept album called Ridley's Bifurcation made in Pxtone for the netlabel Piston Source:

http://pistonsource.iiichan.net/

Since it's on Piston Source you can get mp3s and also the sourcefiles, so you can see all the samples I used and remix my tracks and stuff.

After Agargara released Lost Tracks (which is amazing, I highly recommend checking it out) I was hit with a big burst of inspiration and worked pretty feverishly for the next three months or so, cranking out the album. At the time I started I wasn't very enthusiastic about making music, but this album was a really good experience for me and brought me a lot of joy while making it.

There's a lot of diversity on it, so I think most people will find a track or two they like there.

Two recent projects of mine that might appeal to people here:

"Winds Against" by Editions: A DIY synthpop project of friends that I helped out with.
Aerosol: a collection of bootleg (and very loose) edits I made last year of songs I like.

W97M/Panther.a: glitchy Game Boy dubstep EP. Features a remix by fellow Weekly Beater Dj Sonik.

I also have been doing a brutal death metal and black metal influenced nintendocore with a buddy of mine called Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar. I do all of the Game Boy work and he does the screaming. We don't have anything recorded yet, and until further notice it looks like he can't do anything music related so it looks like I'll either have to get better at death metal screams or put this project aside. Shame though, we have a whole album's worth of material and I think it sounds really great sad

ive made music under this name for a little over a decade now..i sort of un-released a lot of my stuff recently, mostly since it was annoying to see tracks from 4 years ago get more plays than my newer stuff on last.fm... probably most satisfied with this album the most out of my previous work ... my RPM challenge album from last year http://esc.soundcollapse.org/zips/traces.zip

The latest things I've done is my first ep which is a mix of instrumental electronic with some hip hop influence that you can find here

Then I helped produce this transhuman electro hop album which you can find here

This was my most recent EP... It's a lot more noisier/shoegaze-ier compared to my songs on weekly beats. They're free!

I have other songs on the bandcamp if you're interested

good lord, I now have a TON of new stuff to listen to! my other stuff on the sitari bandcamp is pretty good too, including the 2 hour long Uptown album, which was all created when I lived in uptown chicago. miss that 'hood.

vinpous, cool to see that you have an improv related project too! that's what my band island is all about, but we don't play straight up jazz (would kind of like to but the band members have too diverse a background I guess/we are all self taught). the other link you posted was a broken link btw.
