Week 13 is up.

That doesn't sound right, I think you forgot to remove the copyrighted stuff.

On top of that, iamdanielgreen hasn't uploaded his song and is waiting on facebook for a link.

Is it weird that theres a few hundred tracks submitted a week, but only like a couple posts in the forum a week? It just seems strange.

I'll take this opportunity to speak for all the lurkers: We tend to lurk. :-)

Don't forget there are also a couple of folks over at facebook.

I guess it is, though week 10 and 5 aren't that bad either.

Can do, but doing it retroactively is way too much trouble right now, 10 weeks in, but I'll do it if anyone requests it. I'll have it done for week 11 onward and I'll leave the song in the copyrights list so people can tell what they're missing.

Still, people can get everything from the servers with this.

Week 11 is uploaded, it is 747 MB.

allright ... so here is a little info tutorial on P2P...

P2P is legal if you dont share copyrighted material (Madonna , JayZ, Beatles, etc) ...

you can minimize the traffic that is going away / out of your computer as low as 1 b/s .... that will be almost unnoticeably to your connection.

the files are stored on your computer.

what you gotta do to help?

install a torrent machine. it is software (can anybody post a link please?) then you click on a link to a file and start downloading the weekly beats files which contain all the tracks the users have posted.

after and during your download you are uploading from your computer bits and pieces of those files, other users receive those bits and pieces from you AND from others who do the same thing.

dont wait!

Actually, a lot of the stuff uploaded to this site is copyrighted (just check the copyright file included). It's still pretty much okay as long as it remains within this circle I suppose, this site provides free downloads anyway, and I don't think anyone really minds unloading some of the strain on the server and introducing a bit of ease into getting everything at once by stuffing it on torrents.

I have the worst uptime, but no one seems to want it for some reason regardless, which means I'll be the only one until someone else will seed it alongside me.

Not necessarily, the image just has to be on the Internet, it doesn't matter where on the Internet. There are plenty of image hosting sites that'll hold your image, the current go-to place is imgur.com, but you could also try xomf.com, neither of which requires you to have an account.

It's a bit like html, except instead of < and > you use [ and ], and instead of putting the URL into the src attribute, you just put it between the tags. So to display an image, you'll need to URL of it, for instance my avatar URL for this site is http://weeklybeats.com/forums/img/avatars/4481.png, if you were to put after it, it'd show as image.

If you still didn't get that, press the quote button on my post and you'll see what it looks like.

Week 4 here, week 5 here. Something's up with week 5 though, there're two extra songs, probably removed from the site for certain rule breakings, but it'll take way too long to figure out which ones those are, so I'll leave it this way.

I'm gonna do minimalism (maybe space minimalism if that's the decided theme)

on that note, how minimal can I go before it is considered a 'joke' or 'throwaway' track?

I believe someone made a track of 5 minutes worth of, what I believe to be, silence on the first week; you can't probably get any worse than that.
