The Ice Dragon and the Fair Weather Dragon are Warring

By firebeedog on April 13, 2014 10:26 pm

Since neolithic times, dragons have been seen as sudden manifestations of nature, such as wind, thunder and lightening. They became symbols of the powerful and divine. Their sightings are considered auspicious, and people craft their image in order to beckon for favorable weather conditions, as well as for personal enlightenment and zen.

Have shit due in 4 hours, but I've been working on this all week, so I managed to get something done in time. I wrote this last Sunday while cooking and then as I was studying Chinese art from the Ming dynasty this week I realized that it sort of fits this theme of desirable weather conditions, dragons, and personal indecision that I've been weaving.

Lyrics:
The ice dragon and the fair weather dragon are warring again.
Which side will win the war is not for-told.
But you must choose which side to support
In this war to which we resort.
Oh if only it were really hot or cold

If you don't choose the world is going to choose for you,
And you may not like what it decides.
So make your decision.
Throw out any precision-
You're going to have regrets either way.
Make a decision.
The improper incision
Is better than not having a say.

The ice dragon will freeze the world in cold comforts.
The fair weather dragon will have a sunny day.
The sun will dim if you choose lying.
Ice will melt if you choose trying.
Oh if only you could choose both ways.

But if you don't make up your mind it'll be done for you,
And you may not like how events pan out.
So make a decision.
Prepare for collision-
You're apt to have a bittersweet reaction.
Make your decision.
For-go any precision-
It's better than suffering from inaction.

So will you honor cold winds or hot summers?
An age old question you must now resolve.
Please give us your ultimatum.
The true victim is verbatim.
We wish you luck from the atmosphere above.

When did this war begin? It seems so long ago.
It was when I felt so very weak.
Yes I remember,
Twas Back in December,
When I chose to stay in and weep.
Back in December,
When I surrendered.
But this war isn't over, it's unseen.

The ice dragon and fair weather dragon must make peace.
It shall be cold and then it shall be warm.
We shall all take our turns in this.
Set the bar for attaining bliss.
I see no other perfect sunny storm.

I've made my decision,
Forgotten prior visions.
Dragons will sleep unseen forever-more.
Give them their voices,
I will make my choices.
Clearly that ends this master war!
