Kind of stressful, kind of crappy week with a busy and enjoyable weekend to follow. Which left me little time (or motivation) to make a piece. So I was sitting at the train station with Faux Foe waiting to go into the CBD, and had a plastic box of almonds with a rubber band around it to keep the lid on, which made a great sounding instrument. I improvised with this instrument as a train going the other direction rolled in, and recorded it with my phone. I was just going to use that as a WB, but then as I was working with it, I found my return channel so interesting that I exported that and made a whole different track.

Is that a resonator on your return fx channel? Ableton? Reaktor?... Superb ambient / found sound track

I wouldn't ever thought about using almods as a synth engine smile Really nice!

It is a resonator, yes! Ableton Live 9 was my DAW.
Thanks for listening/commenting, and I'm glad you like it!

I really dig this... very intriguing ambience

Thanks very much.

So what about using your new plastic instrument for another wonderful track?

I think I will do that, but when I have better recording stuff with me!

Cool atmosphere!

Classic musique concrète!

"Is that a resonator on your return fx channel?" sounds like a May West line.

Make that Mae West.

Yes, I love this idea.

wow, cool idea! sounds interesting on its own too.

Sounds good mate.  Love how it comes and goes like it does.  What a rad source instrument.

Cheers. Yeah, it was, just couldn't be bothered working the source material to get it to sound like it was recorded on something other than the Soundcloud app on my iPhone.

Cheers. Yeah, DIY almond box guitar...
Did your gig kick ass?

Impressive use of almonds, and a great track!

love the original and effected sound, it's awesome how phone recordings can inspire a track smile  nice job!

Maybe I should put the original-original up somewhere. Thanks for listening! I think it's great how having access to anywhere recording can make you listen to stuff differently.

Sweet pulsating.
