Iteration 11 (Movement Study #6)

The 16MB filesize limit has been an interesting thing with some of the longer works that have appeared recently. I was particularly inspired by kevanatkins' piece for week 8, and I was curious what I could do with a piano and some mp3.

This piece is 3 hours and 26 minutes long, and is made from my piece called "Movement Study" from 2013. The source file was actually 4 hours and 50 minutes, but the lame enc command line seemed to cut some off, or perhaps there is a duration limit or something.

Interesting effects with those artifacts for sure.

A wealth of events; certainly a rebuke to short-attention spans.

And curiously soothing.

Artifacts, you say? Thanks for listening. It was a fun thing to make.

I wonder how much of my motivation with this was rebuking short attention spans. I'm glad you found it soothing.

Very interesting idea, there are some surprisingly smooth and soothing parts here.
And some parts where I feel there's something lurking in the shadows in my space ship.

Smooth and soothing - almost a definition of stretching algorithms!

But on the plus side, you have a space ship. That's pretty cool. I would like a space ship.
